Science in Motion
Comes to PR

Students had a chance to roll up their sleeves and experiment with electricity in a safe, controlled environment. Student teacher Kim Grasso, from Slippery Rock University, worked with students from teacher Carol Scott's Pine-Richland Middle School (PRMS) science classes on April 9, 2007 in the PR Spirit Room.

She introduced fuel cell cars and circuit boards to eighth graders through a project with Westminster College called "Science in Motion".

The "Science in Motion" program provides elementary, middle and high school students with laboratory experiences with modern instrumentation.

The program offers their teachers professional development opportunities through workshops and mentoring links with college faculty.

The Science vans at Westminster College are operated by a PA-State certified science teacher or an educator with a Ph.D. in the subject area and teaching experience.
