The Pine-Richland Board operates the schools for the benefit
of children residing in Pine and Richland Townships, who are
eligible to attend. The Board may permit the admission of nonresident
students only in accordance with terms of this policy.

The Board reserves the right to verify the residency of any
student and to require a sworn statement of residential support
for the student who resides with a person other than his/her
parent, guardian or custodian.

A student whose parent has executed a contract to buy, build
or rent a residence in this district for occupancy by the end
of a semester may be enrolled without payment of tuition for
one (1) semester or an equivalent of ninety (90) school days
from the date of enrollment. NO FURTHER WAIVER OF TUITION
WILL BE PERMITTED AFTER NINETY (90) DAYS. Continued enrollment
after ninety (90) days shall be on a tuition basis until proof
of occupancy is presented. Tuition will be payable on the ninety-first
(91st) day until the day of anticipated day of occupancy.
Parents of children who claim admission
on the basis of future residence shall be required to meet with
the Business Manager and/or his designee, with supporting documents
and to execute an agreement.

Residents
Senior students - A senior whose family moves
out of the district after completing 11th grade may finish the
senior year without paying tuition. Transportation to and from
school will be the responsibility of the student's family.
Underclassmen (K-11) - A student, whose family
moves out of the district during the school term, may complete
the current semester without paying tuition. Transportation
to and from school will be the responsibility of the student's
family.
Continued attendance (Grades 9-12) - Continued
attendance is an option only for students in grades 9-12, and
only on a full tuition basis. The state approved tuition rate,
which may vary from year to year, will be used to calculate
the tuition amount. Tuition will be payable, in advance, by
the first day of each semester. Additional costs associated
with the student's program in the school district shall also
be borne by the parents.
Transportation to and from school will be the responsibility
of the student's family.
This option is available only to families who have lived in
the school district for at least one (1) year prior to moving.
Nonresident
Children Placed in the District
Any child placed in the home of a resident of this district
by a court or an agency of government shall be admitted to the
schools and shall receive the same benefits and be subject to
the same duties as resident children.
Inmates
of Institutions
A child who is an inmate of an institution for the care or
training of children located within this district, is not a
legal resident of the district by such placement, but shall
be admitted to the schools of this district and a charge shall
be made for tuition in accordance with statute.
Other
Nonresident Students
A nonresident student may be admitted to this district without
payment of tuition where attendance is justified on the grounds
that the student lives full-time and not just for the school
year with district residents who have assumed legal guardianship
of the student and support the child gratis as if it was his/her
own or is visiting this country as an exchange student and lives
in the district.
Admittance for enrollment of nonresident children includes:
- Proper application of the parent or guardian.

- Continued enrollment of any nonresident student is contingent
upon maintaining good standards of citizenship and discipline.
- If false claims of residency are founded, tuition will be
charged for days of attendance.
The Pine-Richland School District will not exclude any child,
otherwise eligible, on the basis of such child's race, creed,
gender or national origin.
