Former Residents

Senior students - A senior whose family moves out of the district after completing 11th grade may finish the senior year without paying tuition. Transportation to and from school will be the responsibility of the student's family.

Underclassmen (K-11) - A student, whose family moves out of the district during the school term, may complete the current semester without paying tuition. Transportation to and from school will be the responsibility of the student's family.

Continued attendance (Grades 9-12) - Continued attendance is an option only for students in grades 9-12, and only on a full tuition basis. The state approved tuition rate, which may vary from year to year, will be used to calculate the tuition amount. Tuition will be payable, in advance, by the first day of each semester. Additional costs associated with the student's program in the school district shall also be borne by the parents.

Transportation to and from school will be the responsibility of the student's family.

This option is available only to families who have lived in the school district for at least one (1) year prior to moving.

Nonresident Children Placed in the District

Any child placed in the home of a resident of this district by a court or an agency of government shall be admitted to the schools and shall receive the same benefits and be subject to the same duties as resident children.

Inmates of Institutions

A child who is an inmate of an institution for the care or training of children located within this district, is not a legal resident of the district by such placement, but shall be admitted to the schools of this district and a charge shall be made for tuition in accordance with statute.

Other Nonresident Students

A nonresident student may be admitted to this district without payment of tuition where attendance is justified on the grounds that the student lives full-time and not just for the school year with district residents who have assumed legal guardianship of the student and support the child gratis as if it was his/her own or is visiting this country as an exchange student and lives in the district.

Admittance for enrollment of nonresident children includes:

  1. Proper application of the parent or guardian.
Parent’s Declaration and Authorization for Admission of Non-Resident Student

  2. Verified claims of residency.

  3. Affidavit of Residency

    Residency Verification

  4. Continued enrollment of any nonresident student is contingent upon maintaining good standards of citizenship and discipline.

  5. If false claims of residency are founded, tuition will be charged for days of attendance.

The Pine-Richland School District will not exclude any child, otherwise eligible, on the basis of such child's race, creed, gender or national origin.
