PRHS Students Earn Top Three Awards

A Pine-Richland High School senior will move on to the regional level after earning first place in the National Association of Women in Construction Architectural Drafting local competition.

Students in Teacher Jeff Maple’s classroom were challenged to design a dental office in the competition.

They not only designed the office, but they each earned the top three spots. They include Pine-Richland High School seniors: Lauren Novak with first place who earned $200, Shelby Merilli who took second place and earned $100 and Evan Hunter who earned third place and a $50 prize.

Maple, who sponsored the competition, says the Technology Education Department earned $175, due to their efforts. Novak’s drawings will move on to the regional level and then, if a winner, national level.  The national winner takes home a $1,500 scholarship.   The winning entries are being placed on the bulletin board in the Technology Education hall.
