PR School Board Reorganizes & Welcomes New
Director: The
Pine-Richland School Board reorganized and re-appointed Steve
Hawbaker as president and Richard Herko as vice president on
December 8. Dr. Jeffrey Banyas representing Region 2
in Pine and Richland Townships was newly elected in November to
the seat vacated by Gary Deschamps, who retired after eight

Changes to School Board Meetings: The Pine-Richland School Board approved
changes to its meeting schedule. The board will meet the second
and fourth Mondays of each month beginning January 2010 with one
board meeting in July on July 12. All meetings will be held
in the Administration Building's DeWitt Blank Conference Room at

Grades K-3 PRIMA World Language Academy
2010: Register
today for PRIMA's World Language Academy for all students in
grades K-3. Sessions held on Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. at
the Middle School from January 21-March 11. Click here for

participates in The Alliance Against Highly Addictive
Drugs' Prevention

Eden Hall Upper Elementary School Student Plays Key
Role in Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's Nutcracker: Tanner, 9, of Richland, is one of about
120 students to dance in the ballet. Click here for

PRHS & PRMS Cheer Teams Earn Recognition: The PRHS Competition Cheerleading Team earned
a bid to a national cheerleading competition and can be seen on a
reality show on MTV. In addition, the PRMS Competition Team
begins competing for the first time. Click here to

PRHS Student Named State Semifinalist in Math,
Science & Technology Competition: A Pine-Richland High School 12th grader was named a
semifinalist in Pennsylvania in the Siemens Competition in Math,
Science & Technology. Details...

2nd Annual P-R Varsity Ice Hockey Team
Outdoor Game! The Varsity
Hockey team will play North Allegheny in its second annual
outdoor hockey game on Monday, January 25, at 7 p.m.
at North Park Ice Skating Rink. Proceeds will
benefit Breast Cancer Research. Last year,
we had a terrific crowd, a very exciting game, and raised several
thousand dollars. We hope to surpass that this season.

Pine-Richland Soccer Club -- 2010 Spring Registration: U6-U10 inhouse & U11 and up recreational
travel -- Registration is being held on Saturday, January 23,
from 9 a.m. - noon, and Thursday, January 28, from 6-9 p.m. at
the Pine Community Center (please note that this is a new

Additional changes: Refund requests will
only be completed through February 6; incomplete registration for
travel players will not be processed until complete.
