Car Rider
& Other Changes in your Child's Schedule
If your child will be a car rider or will be riding on
a different bus, please send a written note to school with your
child in the morning. Phone calls to the office during the
day for a change in your child's schedule should only be for
emergency situations. Thank you for your cooperation as
your child's safety is of utmost importance to us.

Global Links Pediatric Crutches Needed
Donations Due Today
If you have pediatric crutches that can be donated to
Global Links for delivery to the children of Haiti, please drop off
your donations at school today. Please be sure the crutches

Fruit & Veggie Tasting
February is Root
Vegetable Month
Yummy carrots and other root vegetables will be featured in this
month's Fruit & Veggie Tasting. Click here for information

This month's event will be held on Friday, February
26. Two parent volunteers are needed from 10:40 a.m. -

Valentine's Parties
February 12
AM Kindergarten
parties begin at 10:30 a.m. PM Kindergarten and grades 1-3
will have parties from 2:30-3:30 p.m. If you are a Party
Coordinator, please make contact with each volunteer to make sure
planning is underway. This will ensure a smooth party.

Hats for Haiti
Thank You!
A huge thank you to
our Hance families and staff for helping to raise money for Haiti
relief. On Friday, January 29, we asked students to wear
their favorite hat and bring $1 to be donated to Brother's Brother.
The total collected was $839.11! The hats were so creative,
and everyone looked fantastic! Your support is greatly
appreciated.

for Heart
February 19
Our annual
event to support The
American Heart Association is February 19. A
kick-off assembly was held and fundraising forms came
home with your child. Students should
return forms and money on or before February 19.
Water Donations Needed: We need one case
per class; currently, we only have three cases...many more
needed! If you can donate a case of water, please bring
to the school office.
Volunteers
are needed on February 19: Click here to

Book Fair
Co-Chair
Needed to Work with Experienced Chairs
An additional
co-chair is needed to work with Jane Gessner and Jo Anne
Lazzaro. This person will work closely with these two
experienced chairs for this spring's event
and then co-chair next Fall and Spring events with
Jo Anne Lazzaro. The following year, you will co-chair

Hosting Local Illustrator
March 16;
Order Books by February 16
This year Hance
Elementary will be hosting local illustrator John Manders on
Tuesday, March 16. Some of the books he has illustrated
include "The Perfect Nest", "Henry and the Buccaneer
Bunnies", "Clarence the Copy Cat" and "Dirt
Boy". He will be doing a drawing presentation for the
students and discuss the process of creating pictures for authors.

February 11, at 7 p.m. in the Hance Library as we host special
guest speaker Dr. David Foley, Assistant
Superintendent. We will also continue our discussion about

Second Box Tops Contest for
2009-2010
Contest Ends February 15
It's our
second Box Top Contest! A winning classroom will be announced
per grade; each will win an afternoon popcorn
party compliments of the PTO.
Send Box Tops to school, and have your child put them into the
blue Box Tops box in their classroom. Contest ends February
