Jump Rope
for Heart
February 24-25
On February 24 and
25, grades 1-3 will participate in the American Heart
Association Jump
Rope for Heart event as a part of their physical
education class. (Please
note that these dates are different from what was published on the
school district calendar).
The money we raise helps people in our community learn how to
prevent heart disease and stroke and also helps our local patient
care.
The school
will qualify for gift certificates for free
physical education equipment based on the amount we raise, and students will qualify
for individual thank you gifts based on the
donations they collect. Additionally, the student who collects the
most in donations will get to serve as Principal for the Day.
Last year, Wexford Elementary students collected over $5,000 for
this very worthy cause! Please look for the informational
brochure and collection envelope that were sent home with your
child this week.
Volunteers
are needed to work morning and afternoon shifts
at the event assisting the children with the jump rope
stations. The morning shift is 9:10-12:15; the afternoon
shift is 1:05-3:30. To volunteer, please email Deanne Braksator.
