Monthly
Fruit & Veggie Tasting Events
Begins Friday,
January 29
On Friday, January 29, we will begin our monthly
fruit and veggie tasting events by showcasing citrus
fruits. The children will have a chance to taste
fresh-squeezed lemonade and orange and grapefruit juices. Click here

Volunteers: Two parents will be needed for
each event from 10:30-1:10. Email Jo Anne Lazzaro

Guest, Assistant Superintendent Dr. David Foley
Join us on
Thursday, February 11, at 7 p.m. in the Hance Library as we
host special guest speaker Dr. David
Foley, Assistant Superintendent. We will also continue
our discussion about next year's Board, so bring a friend and
join us. New
to Hance? This is a wonderful opportunity to

February Birthdays Due January 29!
If your child has a February birthday, please
send his/her picture along with the required permission slip by January
29 to be included on the birthday board.

Fun Friday & Popcorn Dayz
February 5
Wear Red Day is being observed
at Hance on February 5. If you earned a Jump Rope for
Heart shirt last year, consider wearing it! Click here to
read more about National Wear Red Day.
Popcorn
Dayz: Don't forget 25 cents for popcorn
during lunch on February 5. Remember, popcorn must remain in
the cafeteria. For those with allergies, fruit snacks are
also available.

Jump Rope
for Heart
Kick-off Assembly
Scheduled for February 4
Our annual
event to support The
American Heart Association is just around the
corner. A kick-off assembly will be held on February 4.
Fundraising forms will come home with your child that day.
On February 19, students will participate in the Jump Rope for Heart
event. Students should return forms and money on or before
that date. Water
Donations: If you can donate bottles of
water, please place your donations in the PTO room.
Volunteers
are needed on February 19: Lunch will be
served to the volunteers that day from 12-1:15. Click here to
volunteer for the shift/grade of your preference.

February 27, 1-4 p.m.

donations needed to make this a wonderful afternoon of fun!
Grade-Level
Baskets: Donations are needed to create the
grade-level baskets. Click here for each
grade's theme. Gift cards and cash will also be
accepted. Donations can be dropped off in the classroom

Second Box
Tops Contest for 2009-2010
Contest Ends
February 15
It's our
second Box Top Contest! A winning classroom will be announced
per grade; each will win an afternoon popcorn
party compliments of the PTO.
Send Box Tops to school, and have your child put them into the
blue Box Tops box in their classroom. Contest ends February
15; winners announced February 19.

a Pizza & Bingo Family Night as part of the transition
for your child from his/her elementary school to Eden Hall.

Soup Contest
The Results
Are In...
Congratulations to Mrs. Lamagna's first grade class who won
the December Campbell's Soup Contest with 405 points. They
will receive "Cameron The Campbell's Soup Cub" and a
special treat in January.
Keep collecting
labels...another contest will be running in
March. When submitting, please include the student name and
classroom teacher's name so the appropriate classroom receives the
credit.
