to the RAMPAGE, the high school student newspaper, will
be available next year for $10. Receive the last three
issues of the 2009-2010 school year at home for free by

Attention
Junior Parents
The SAT's
are held at Pine-Richland High School on March 13, 2010.
The ACT's will be held on April 10, 2010. Help
your students prepare for these important college admission
tests. One way to get ready is by using Test Preparation in
Naviance. You choose the test for which you want to
prepare, either SAT or ACT. It's free, easily
available online, and you get the results right away.
Practicing for the test will help your child feel better
prepared on test day. Questions? Contact Mrs. Whalen in
the Guidance Office.

Aid Night Rescheduled
La Roche College
has rescheduled their Community Financial Aid Night for Tuesday,
March 9, 2010 at 6 p.m. The evening will be an
overview of financial aid, how to apply for financial aid, and a
demonstration of completing the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid or FAFSA. If you have any questions, please contact

Bag Series
Pine-Richland
High School Project 720, in conjunction with Collegiate Affairs,
GATE and Resource, is pleased to introduce the Brown Bag Lunch Series,
an ongoing initiative that facilitates lunchtime discussions with
professionals from a variety of career fields. Click here for

Summer
Enrichment Programs
Are you looking for a great way to enhance your
academics through a summer program? Many local and national
colleges and universities, such as Penn State, Notre Dame, Alfred
University, Boston University, Robert Cook Honors College at
Indiana University of PA, Carnegie Mellon, West Point,
Virginia Tech, University of Virginia, and Brown University,
offer a variety of summer programs for middle and high school students. In
addition, local organizations also offer leadership and business
opportunities through the American Legion and Pennsylvania Free
Enterprise Week.

Costs and length of programs vary; but a few
programs, such as the American Legion, are free to students who

Brackets
with Benefits, Begins March 14
Sponsored by Student Government
Enjoy the excitement of "March Madness" as
you follow your favorite college basketball teams through
the NCAA tournament, while helping to win the battle against
cancer.
Jim
Valvano, famous North Carolina State basketball coach,
established the V
Foundation for Cancer Research before he lost his
own battlle with cancer. Last year, PRHS raised
$1,000 for the V
Foundation through Bracket
with Benefits. For $6, you can purchase a
bracket during all lunches on March 15, 16, and 17. There
will be no cash prizes as all proceeds will be
donated to the V
Foundation. Pool results will be posted daily
in the atrium. All participants are invited to attend a
"Final Four" Party at Pine Community Center the
night of the semifinal games.

Hawkins Dance, March 6
Sadie Hawkins
Dance is scheduled for March 6 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at
the High School. Tickets may be purchased in the
Student Activities room during all lunch periods through Friday
or until the 600 limit is reached. Permission forms must be
turned in when buying tickets. Tickets will not be
sold at the door.

Boosters Hosting Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser
The PRHS Choral Boosters are hosting its annual spaghetti dinner
fundraiser. Enjoy a delicious dinner from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on
March 27 at PRHS, while you are taking in the matinee or evening
showing of the the PRHS musical performance of "Children of
Eden". You can hear a special performance by the PRHS

The Pine-Richland High School Baseball Boosters are
proudly sponsoring a free seminar presented by Mark Saghy for
anyone interested in learning more about the process and
opportunities for college athletics. Mr. Saghy is a
well-known spokesman on this topic and promoter of many area high
school athletes into colleges. Even more importantly,
information in his seminar will provide everyone the needed
direction in finding the right school through the college search
and recruiting process.
It's never
too early to begin learning about playing a chosen sport in
college. A real
must for all high school student athletes with ambitions
of playing a sport in college and their parents. For

Basketball
Tournament Benefits Scholarship Fund
A student
basketball tournament is being held on Thursday, March 25, to benefit
the scholarship fund at the Richland Youth Foundation. The
cost for registration is $5 per person with a team of four.
Games will begin after school on Thursday, March
25. Concessions will be sold, including Chick-fil-A
sandwiches.

Marathon
Baseball Game, April 17
The
Pine-Richland Baseball Boosters will be hosting a Marathon
Baseball Game on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 10 a.m. - 4
p.m. at the PR varsity baseball field. There will be
food, raffles, and fun for all members of the PR community.

This year's Prom is being held on Friday, May 14,
from 7 p.m. - midnight at Heinz Field.
The
After-Prom, sponsored by the Parent Support Group, is being held
from midnight - 3 a.m. on the Gateway Clipper Fleet.
Students attending the After-Prom will be picked up at Heinz
Field at midnight.
