
Pine-Richland School Board Approves
New Assistant Superintendent
The Pine-Richland School Board unanimously approved Dr. David Foley as the district's new assistant superintendent at its meeting on Tuesday, October 06, 2009.
Superintendent Dr. Mary Bucci said she was extremely happy to have another talented member join the Pine-Richland School District administrative team.
“I’m excited that we’ve found this talented person to join our team,” said Dr. Bucci. “Dr. Foley comes highly recommended and has been described as a go-getter.”
Since 2003, Dr. Foley has been serving as the principal of Hillview Intermediate Center in the Grove City School District in Grove City, PA. That’s where he oversees 700 students and 75 staff members and is in charge of designing and aligning curriculum. Prior, he served as the assistant principal of GCSD’s George Junior Republic School.
He has been serving since 2007 as an adjunct professor at Edinboro University in Edinboro, PA, where he teaches graduate level principal certification and masters in educational leadership courses.
From 2001-2003, Dr. Foley served as a technology facilitator at Seneca Valley Intermediate High School in Harmony, PA. From 1994-2001, he served as a social studies teacher at Seneca Valley Middle School.
He is in the process of writing a book that outlines the connections between formative assessment data and improvements in classroom instruction.
Dr. Foley has presented at several state and national conferences including the Pennsylvania Association of Elementary & Secondary School Principals Conference and the National Staff Development Council.
He earned an Administrative and Policy Studies Doctorate and an Instructional I Teaching Certification from the University of Pittsburgh, a Principal Certification from Slippery Rock University, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Gannon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Westminster College.
Foley and his wife Amy live in Grove City with their three children.
