PRHS Senior Named to
Hockey Coaches National Academic Squad
Pine-Richland High School senior Audra Zimmer is being named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) 2006 High School National Academic Squad. To qualify, senior student-athletes needed a cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 on an un-weighted basis.
“Audra was part of our program since our beginning, having played field hockey for three years,” Field Hockey Coach Donna Stephenson said.
Zimmer participated in Futures, field hockey’s Olympic development program, and attended Gateway field hockey camp. She was named a captain of the varsity squad this past season and received the team Sportsmanship award for 2006.
Stephenson said Zimmer was a leader on the PR Hockey forward line, responsible for redistributing play and setting up scoring opportunities. She netted the winning goal in PR’s overtime victory at Hempfield.
“She is a kind-hearted, young lady with a life’s ambition to be a doctor,” Stephenson said. “I am very proud of Audra.”
