PR Invention Convention Showcase Clever Inventions

Pine-Richland's own version of the "Invention Convention" got underway on Thursday, April 12, 2007 in the PR Spirit Room.

Some of the gadgets in which students shared with their fellow peers, staff and administrators included: sleeve holder, fajitas folder, a backpack with a charging device for your ipods and other handheld devices, an improved pencil sharpener, remote stopping for skates, an automatic watering system for plants and even an expandable dog leash for your yard.

The GATE classes from all three buildings participated. Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 showcased their inventions.

Students spent the semester making their inventions, keeping an inventor's log, completing research, choosing materials and making a model.

The students displayed their work and enjoyed looking at the other inventions.

Hance Elementary Teacher Vicki Roth, Richland Elementary Teacher Deb Newcomer and Wexford Elementary Teacher Jan Montgomery helped coordinate the event.
