Speaker Encourages Students to Have Win-Win Attitude

Never let anyone or anything determine who you are. That’s the advice of Victory Management Consultant Debra Mason. She encouraged students to have a win-win attitude at special luncheon at Pine-Richland School District (PRSD) on March 21, 2007.

“You need to determine who you are,” Mason said. “We all have stories to tell. We have to learn how to overcome those stories. Never take ‘no’ as a final answer. Find out what you can do to better yourself to get a ‘yes’ answer.”

Students are invited to the luncheon every year to celebrate diversity in the district hosted by the Pine-Richland Administration.

“We want Pine-Richland to be a place where students feel good about the environment,” said Dr. James C. Manley, PR superintendent. “We want to make sure our environment promotes diversity and multiculturalism. This a major goal.”

Students, from the middle school and high school, were encouraged to bring a friend to dialogue about issues that impact them on a daily basis.

“Part of education is understanding different cultures,” said Dr. Robert L. Johnson, PR assistant superintendent. “That is a mark of an educated person.”

Students had a chance to interact with administrators, meet new friends and enjoy a special lunch in the PRSD Administrative DeWitt Blank Conference Room.
