The elementary strings program is designed to give students in grades 3 through 5 hands-on experience in playing a string instrument under the guidance of a string specialist.  This is an optional pull-out program for the students.   Instruments may be rented from one of the local music stores.   A string instrument demonstration is held the second week of school,  which all parents with students interested in taking strings lessons are encouraged to attend.

String students receive a small group lesson and an orchestra rehearsal each week.  They are expected to practice their assigned lesson and record their practice times in their lesson books.  Students will perform in both Winter and Spring concerts.

It is our goal that each string student will enjoy making music on his stringed instrument by producing good sound with his bow, playing in tune with his left hand, and knowing how to play and read music on his playing level.
