All Upper Elementary students receive guitar instruction as part of their General Music classes. Guitar is taught by one of the 3 General Music teachers, and is used as a means of reinforcing various musical concepts. Guitar Ensemble is also an additional option available to 5th and 6th graders as part of their Explore-Time period.
Students in 5th and 6th grade Guitar Ensemble will explore musical concepts such as pitch, rhythm, note-reading, and performance through the use of the Guitar. Instruction will include elements of jazz, folk, rock, pop, and classical music. We will also focus on teamwork, cooperation, hard work, and of course fun!!
Students do not need to purchase a guitar.
