PRHS Proudly Presents: "Children of Eden"
WPXI Features Musical in Behind-Scenes Video. Pine-Richland High School will be performing the musical “Children of Eden ” on March 19, 20 and 26, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. on March 27, 2010. The cast will perform a special showing for senior citizens 4 p.m. on March 18, 2010 (Dress Rehearsal/Complimentary for Senior Citizens). Musical producer Carole Rost says the cast has been selected. They’ll spend the next few weeks practicing with Musical Director Tim Marquette. Click here for a list of cast members. While more well known for some of his other shows including Pippin, Godspell , and the most popular - Wicked, composer Stephen Schwartz has claimed that Children of Eden is his favorite! While loosely based on Genesis, this show visits themes of personal responsibility, intellectual independence, and most importantly the conflicts of parenthood – something with which every member of the audience can identify. This is not just a story about Adam and Eve along with Cain and Able (ACT I) nor of Noah’s Ark (ACT II) – it is the story of EVERY family – for every member of your family.
