Reading - The Learning Site

This is the official reading site of Harcourt School Publishers, the publisher of the K-5 reading program that is used in the Pine-Richland School District.

When initially signing on to this site, the PASSWORD — "Beck" should be used.

A variety of online reading and writing activities and resources are offered on this site that are grade specific and in many cases directly related to the reading selections being studied in school.


Language - The Learning Site

This is the official language arts (English) site of Harcourt School Publishers, the publisher of the fourth and fifth grade Language program used in the Pine-Richland School District.

When initially signing on to this site, the PASSWORD — "Farr" should be used.

A variety online language activities and resources are offered on this site that are grade specific. The site also includes multimedia grammar glossary.


The Write Source

The Write Source provides materials that are used as supplemental resources to our language arts program in grades K-8. This website provides grade level specific information related to writing topics and models, research sources, universal style manuals, and multimedia project resources.


Peterson Directed Handwriting

This is the official site of the Peterson Handwriting Company. Pine-Richland has adopted Peterson as its handwriting instructional program for both print and cursive writing. This website provides information related to the development of handwriting skills. An animated letter page that provides basic information related to letter formation is also accessible.


Spelling and Vocabulary

This link will take you to the Houghton Mifflin Spelling and Vocabulary site. Pine-Richland uses Houghton Mifflin Spelling and Vocabulary in grades 4 and 5. This site provides word find activities for each spelling unit in the program. In addition, four additional activities are offered that are grade specific.


Math Surf

This is the official website of Pearson, Scott Foresman. Pine-Richland uses the Scott Foresman — Addison Wesley math program in grades K-5. This website provides a variety of activities that are correlated to the topics being studied at each grade level in each chapter. Clicking on the family icon can access additional resources.
