Students Step Back in Time
Imagine panning for gold or grinding wheat. Those are just some of the tasks students at Wexford Elementary School had the opportunity to complete as they stepped back in time March 27 and March 28, 2007.
Students had the chance to experience "Pioneer Living" as the interactive, traveling museum “Journey Back in Time” visited the school.
Students had a chance to play with toys from the 1800s. They panned for fools’ gold, ground wheat and even had the chance to use a scrub board.
In all, students had a chance to visit six different learning centers.
They included: the Gold Rush Learning Center, Children’s Learning Center, Ma's and Pa's Learning Center, Clothing Learning Center, Kitchen Learning Center and the Handcrafts Learning Center.
PTO Assembly Co-Chairs Susan Cavanaugh and Michelle English organized the assembly for students.
