Students to Step Back in Time

Imagine panning for gold or grinding wheat. Those are just some of the tasks students will complete as they step back in time as a traveling museum makes a stop at Wexford Elementary School on March 27 and March 28.

Students will have a chance to experience "Pioneer Living" as the interactive, hands-on museum “Journey Back in Time” visits. They’ll even get a chance to take a look at a collection of schoolbooks from the 1800s, 40 wooden folk toys, drums, tepees, furs, quilt dolls and even a scrub board.

In all, students will have a chance to visit six different learning centers. They include: the Gold Rush Learning Center, Children’s Learning Center, Ma's and Pa's Learning Center, Clothing Learning Center, Kitchen Learning Center and the Handcrafts Learning Center.

PTO Assembly Co-Chairs Susan Cavanaugh and Michelle English are organizing the assembly for students.
