PR Students to Participate in PMEA District 1 Elementary Sing Fest West
Five Pine-Richland students will participate in the PMEA District 1 Elementary Sing Fest West on April 27, 2007. Pine-Richland Middle School students Brianna Cerny, Sarah Prins and Cassy Rosemeyer and Richland Elementary students Marlys Bridgham and Mariah Kutchko will participate in the festival, which will be held at the Bethlehem Center School District. Teacher Jill Linsz says this is a festival for fifth and sixth grade students and their PMEA Member teachers.
The fest will include sessions for the students in vocal techniques, Orff instruction, and World Drumming techniques. A public performance will be held the same evening following the day’s activities.
Linsz and teacher Jennifer Novotny are participating in the program this year. During the spring of 2009, the new upper elementary school building will host a similar session as one of the inaugural activities. The program will be an all- day festival for fifth and sixth grade students and their PMEA member teachers. The students and teachers will work with world-class clinicians and choral directors. Between 100-140 students will be selected. The day’s events will culminate in an evening performance.
