(Gibsonia, PA) The Pine-Richland Opportunities Fund is announcing today the availability of eight scholarships equaling nearly $18,000 in scholarships. Scholarship applications are due April 9, 2010, except for the Gallagher-Lynn Scholarship, which is due April 30, 2010.

Potential awardees can visit www.pinerichland.org/oppfund.html to download applications, which should be submitted to the Pine-Richland High School Guidance Department no later than 3 p.m. on the deadline date.

The eight scholarships include:

• Foster Family Scholarship - $2,000
• Gallagher-Lynne Scholarship - $5,500 (April 30)
• Jeff Calhoun Performing Arts Award - $5,000
• Pasquinelli Insurance Scholarship - $1,000
• Ruth V. Mattison/Ruth Lefevre Long Memorial Scholarship - $1,250
• Richland Civic Club - $1,000
• Scott Crawford Memorial Scholarship - $1,000
• Ron Steiner Excellence in Communications Memorial Scholarship - $1,000

2010 winners will be notified at the PRHS senior awards program to be held on June 2, 2010 at Pine-Richland High School, 700 Warrrendale Rd. in Gibsonia. In 2009, the following graduates earned scholarships:

• Michelle Kappeler - Scott Crawford Memorial Scholarship
• Ryan Tobin - Foster Family Opportunities Fund Scholarship
• Adam Benson - Gallagher-Lynn Scholarship
• Lindsay Thill - Ruth W. Mattison/Ruth Lefevre Long Memorial Scholarship
• Cara Hertneky - Richland Civic Club/Opportunities Fund Scholarship
• Michael Georgiadis - Heartland Homes Scholarship
• Kimberly Spohn - Pasquinelli Insurance Scholarship

Gabriela Szewcow - Ron Steiner Excellence in Communications Memorial Award
