Two Pine-Richland High School Seniors
Newest Members of PSU Lionettes
Two Pine-Richland High School seniors are the newest members of the Penn State Dance Team. Both Ashley Hinson and Natalie Sarver tried out for the Division I Penn State Lionettes and earned a spot. Nearly 73 students from all around tried out for a spot, but only 26 made the team.
The Pine-Richland High School Dance Team sponsor Amy Devinney says she couldn’t be more proud.
“I would just want to congratulate the girls on this great achievement and express that I could not be more proud of them,” Devinney said. “They are not only amazing dancers, but wonderful young ladies. I can't wait to see what other successes await them in the future.”
Hinson plans on majoring in broadcast journalism. She’s been dancing since the age of two and competing since she was eight.
“Dance has always been a big part of my life, so this is very exciting,” Hinson said.
Sarver is undecided about what she will major in at Penn State. She has been dancing since she was five and also plays the guitar and sings.
“This is a great opportunity to represent Penn State University in a positive way,” Sarver said.
The pair will be quite busy, because they will be performing in nearly 100 events.
