PRHS Sophomore Pitches In New Year

While many might be thinking about the upcoming softball season, one Pine-Richland High School sophomore pitcher has already been pitching in the new year.

Brittany Dovey was selected to play in the Queen of Diamonds Showcase Softball Tournament at Kent State University in Kent, OH from Jan. 6-7, 2007. She earned three MVP honors at the tournament: Cage MVP, Game MVP and Overall MVP.This is quite an accomplishment, since only 64 pitchers of 1,700 who applied were accepted to participate in the special showcase.  

In addition, Dovey was nominated to play in the World Cup program in January of 2008 or January 2009. She has the opportunity to choose which year to play.

In the meantime, her mom Lil is helping her search for sponsors of the trip, which would able her daughter to travel to Europe to participate.

This year, the Lady Rams will move into Quad A during softball season.
