  • Devon Health Care Services, Inc. has announced it's annual scholarship for students interested in pursuing healthcare after high school.
    Additional information and applications are available in the guidance office or on their website at www.devonhealth.com.    Deadline: April 11, 2008.

  • Attention Seniors:  Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. has announced a scholarship opportunity for students who plan on attending a four-year college or university.  Students need a GPA of 2.5 or higher, be a US Citizen, and have demonstrated leadership ability.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Deadline: March 15, 2008.
     
  • The Junior League of Pittsburgh is offering female graduates from Allegheny County a $2,500 scholarship to be used to continue their education at an accredited college or university.  Candidates must provide at least 100 hours of verified volunteer service and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Deadline: April 15, 2008.
     
  •  The Westinghouse Electric Company chapter of Women In Nuclear is sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship for a high school senior girl planning to major in Math, Physical Science or Engineering.  Deadline: April 1, 2008.  Additional information is available in the guidance office or online at : www.westinghousenuclear.com.   
  • Treasure House Fashions has announced its "Unlock Your Treasure" Scholarship.  To qualify students must be a senior who plans on attending an accredited college or vocational training program.  Additional information is available in the guidance office or visit their website at www.treasurehousefashions.org.
  • Richland Civic Club/Opportunities Fund Scholarship:
    Deadline: April 11, 2008

    Amount: $1,000
    This scholarship is available to seniors who have attended Pine-Richland High School their junior and senior years.   • Ruth Mattison/Ruth Lefevre Long Memorial Scholarship/Opportunities Fund
    Deadline: April 11, 2008

    Amount: $1,250

     

    This scholarship is available to a Pine-Richland senior who meets the criteria and is accepted into an accredited program leading to a degree in elementary or early childhood education. This scholarship is available to seniors who have attended Pine-Richland High School their sophomore, junior and senior years.

  • Foster Family Charitable Trust/Opportunities Fund
    Deadline: April 11, 2008

    Amount: $2,000

     

    This scholarship is available to seniors who have attended Pine-Richland High School their junior and senior years and have participated in a learning support program.   • Scott Crawford Memorial Scholarship/Opportunities Fund

    Deadline: April 13, 2008

    Amount: $1,000

     

    This scholarship is available to any senior who has been a student at Pine Richland High School from 9th through 12th grade and will graduate with the class of 2008.  This student must also be a member of the National Honor Society, participated in one interscholastic athletic program for at least three seasons and five extracurricular activities throughout high school.   • Pasquinelli Insurance Scholarship/Opportunities Fund
    Deadline: April 11, 2008

    Amount: $1,000

     

    This scholarship is available to seniors who have attended Pine-Richland High School for four years and have participated in at least three extracurricular activities throughout high school.   • Ron Steiner Excellence in Communications Memorial Scholarship/Opportunities Fund
    Deadline: April 11, 2008

    Amount: $1,000

    This scholarship is available to seniors who demonstrate a genuine interest in the communication field and plans on majoring in a communication-related field (sports information, public relations, journalism, marketing, advertising and communication).   • The Rotary Club of Pittsburgh will provide multiple $2,500 scholarships for college bound seniors.  Applicants must have a 3.2 GPA or higher.  Additional criteria and applications are available in the guidance office.  Deadline: March 7, 2008.

  • For Juniors: UPMC Sports Medicine has announced the 2008 Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Scholarship Program.  This scholarship program was established for students interested in a career in Sports Medicine.  To qualify an applicant must be going into his senior year in September 2008.  The selected individual will receive a $2,000 scholarship in return for a six week summer internship at the Center for Sports Medicine.  Additional information is available in the guidance office.  Deadline:  April 18, 2008.
  • Pennsylvania's New Economy Technology Scholarship Program offers two different scholarships for students who plan on studying technology or science-based programs in college or technical school.  Recipients must work in Pennsylvania for one year for each year they receive the scholarship.  The SciTech Scholarship provides up to $3,000. per year for students studying an approved science or technology in Pennsylvania.  The Technology Scholarship provides up to $1,000. for students attending an approved Pennsylvania community college, two or four year college or licensed technical school.  Visit PHEAA.org for details on both scholarships.
  • The Constance T. Rockwell Scholarship Program for the Theatre Arts will be awarding scholarships to students who plan on attending an accredited college or conservatory that offers a four year program in theater or performance arts. Please stop by the guidance office for an application with additional criteria.  Deadline is:  April 19, 2008.
  • The Pittsburgh Chapter of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials has announced a scholarship for seniors planning on attending college or technical school in the field of transportation or a related discipline.  Students need not be a minority in order to apply.  Deadline:  April 15, 2008.  Visit www.comto.org  for additional information.
  • The Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation has announced the 2008 Landmarks Scholarship Award. This scholarship is awarded to at least one student in Allegheny County who is interested in the history, architecture, and landscape design of the Pittsburgh region.  Additional criteria and information is available in the guidance office or online at www.phlf.org . Deadline: April 25, 2008.
     
  • SODEXHO Stop Hunger Scholarships
    The Sodexho Foundation has announce its Stop Hunger Scholarships program.  These scholarships are designed to recognize and reward the great things students are doing to fight hunger in our communities across the Unites States.   • Eleventh Annual Scholar Athlete Milk Mustach of the Year Award
    America's Milk Processors have announced the 11th annual Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year 2008 Award Program.  The SAMMY Award Program recognizes outstanding scholar athletes. Nominees will be judged on five criteria: academic performance, athletic excellence, leadership, community service and milk experience.  Applications are available online at: bodybymilk.com until March 7, 2008.
     
  • National Federation of the Blind
    The National Federation of the Blind is offering scholarship opportunities for blind students in Pennsylvania. There are 30 national scholarships awarded annually.  Please stop by the guidance office for additional information.

  • The Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation
    The Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation has announced the 2008 Landmarks Scholarship Award. This scholarship is awarded to at least one student in Allegheny County who is interested in the history, architecture, and landscape design of the Pittsburgh region.  Additional criteria and information is available in the guidance office or online at www.phlf.org.    Deadline: April 25, 2008.
  • PenSPRA Scholarships
    The Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association wants to encourage and promote the field of public relations to high school students through an educational scholarship for those interested in studying the field or related subjects.  In an effort to share this scholarship, PenSPRA will present three $500 scholarships to worthy recipients from the East Region, Central Region and West Region of the Commonwealth.  We invite all interested candidates to complete and submit the application.  Deadline is February 28, 2008.  The application is attached and online at www.penspra.org.
  • Robert C Byrd Honors Scholarship Program:  Students applying must rank in the top 5 percent of your class.  Deadline is May 1, 2008.
  • Pittsburgh Italian Scholarship Fund:  At least one parent must be of Italian heritage.  Deadline:  March 31, 2008.
  • Best Buy Scholarship:  Students must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 and demonstrate commitment to and involvement in volunteer community service or work experience.  Deadline:  February 15, 2008.
  • Youth Scholarship Program for Children of Law Enforcement and Fire Service Personnel:  Deadline: March 15, 2008.
  • Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity:    Deadline: March 13, 2008.
  • Commitment to Agriculture Scholarship Program to Offer Scholarships
    The Monsanto Company has announced that it will continue the annual Commitment to Agriculture Scholarship Program.  One-time awards of $1,500 will be made to 100 high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in an agriculture-related field.  Applications are available online at www.monsanto.com.  Deadline date is February 15, 2008.
  • 2008 Masonic Scholarship Guide Available
    The 2008 Masonic Scholarship Resource Guide is available in the guidance office or online at www.pagrandlodge.org/pmyf  These scholarship opportunities are primarily for Masons, their siblings, children, grandchildren and members of the Masonic-related youth groups.  Applications must be postmarked no later than March, 15, 2008.
  • Hightowers Scholars Inc. Announces 2008 Scholarships
    Hightower Scholars, Inc has announced its 2008 Scholarship Programs.  These scholarships are for graduating minority seniors unless otherwise noted.  Please visit their website at www.hscholars.org for eligibility requirements and applications.

  • Messiah College Offering Scholarships
    Messiah College will award three full-tuition scholarships to incoming first-year students through the Lloyd and Lois Martin Multicultural Scholarship.  Students must complete an application to Messiah College and the Martin's Scholarship Application before March 1, 2008.  Please contact the admissions office at 800-233-4220 for additional requirements and information.
     
  • Pittsburgh CLO Offering Scholarships
    Pittsburgh CLO is offering senior high school students who participate in the Gene Kelly Awards an opportunity to receive various theatre and music theatre scholarships at the following universities: Seton Hill University, University of Pittsburgh, Point Park University, and Westminster Choir College.  Please stop by the guidance office for additional requirements and information or visit: http://www.pittsburghclo.org/volunteers/guild_scholarships.cfm.
     
    US Junior Chamber International Sentate Foundation Scholarship
    The United States Junior Chamber International Senate Foundation has announced its annual scholarship program. $1,000 grants will be awarded to graduating seniors.  Deadline: January 9, 2008.  Please stop by the guidance office for information.
  • Best Teen Chef Competition
    The Art Institute Culinary Arts Program has announced the Best Teen Chef Competition. Students who possess true culinary skills will compete against other culinary artists from around the country for a chance at nine tuition scholarships to the Art Institute. Information and applications are available online at http://www.artinstitutes.edu/Competitions/BestTeenChef.aspx.
    Deadline is February 8, 2008.

  • The PA Am. Legion is offering scholarships to students.  Applications must be submitted no later than Jan. 5, 2008.
  • The Am. Legion is sponsoring an essay contest for students in grades 9-12. 
  • Balfour & Taylor Publishing has announced an annual scholarship opportunity. Awards will be based on GPA, tests scores and community involvement. Applications are available in the PRHS Guidance office.
  • Pepsi-Cola Company Tuition Funding Sources program.  This is a private website where students from Pine-Richland can search for scholarships and research college and career options.
  • Ted & Betty Rice Memorial Fund – for seniors only (See Guidance).
  • Ray G. Anthony Scholarship Committee is now accepting applications for the 2008 scholarship.
  • Jamie Ellenberger Scholarship Program:
    Any senior planning to attend a two or four-year post secondary program is eligible to apply for a scholarship.
    Additional criteria is available on the applications located in the guidance office. Deadline: April 25, 2008.

  • Criteria: Minimum GPA of 3.0 or greater, SAT score of 1400 or better, strong leadership and volunteerism. Additional criteria and applications are available in the guidance office.  Deadline: May 30, 2008.

  • Department of the Navy:  ROTC Scholarships are available to many fine colleges and universities.  For additional information regarding the Navy ROTC program please visit their website: www.nrotc.navy.mil/
