www.cogito.org.  Click on Summer Programs on the left hand side of the web page.  Some programs are geared toward talented students, but others will accept students who meet the basic criteria.  Please contact the programs directly for additional information and criteria.

Boston University Offering Two Summer Programs
Boston University is offering students two different summer programs.  The High School Honors Program is a six-week residential program in which students can earn college credit.  The Summer Challenge is a two-week residential program in which students enroll in two non-credit seminars.  Additional information is available online at: www.bu.edu/summer/highschool.   

 

The University of Southern California is offering a summer seminar program for juniors and seniors.  Upon successful completion, each seminar grants three University elective credits.  Visit their website for additional information:

 
The University of Dayton's School of Engineering is offering a Women in Engineering Summer Camp.  Applications and information are available at: http://engineering.udayton.edu/wie.   
 
Oxford University is offering talented junior and senior students an opportunity to study abroad in their Advanced Studies Program.  A course brochure is available online at: www.oasp.ac.uk.   
 
Washington University in St. Louis is offering a High School Summer Scholars Program for high school students entering their senior year.  Students will have the opportunity to earn full college credit. The University of Notre Dame has a pre-college program available to students entering their junior or senior years and are at least 16 years old.  The Notre Dame Summer Scholars Program is for academically able students looking to challenge themselves both academically and personally.  Applications and complete program information is available online at : http://summerscholars.nd.edu.  Deadline is March 1, 2008.

 

Columbia University is offering a summer high school program for highly motivated students.  Pre-college courses are offered for students in grades 9-12.  An information session will be held on the Columbia campus on Saturday, March 15, 2008. The Wiegand Summer Internship is offering a $1,000 award to a high school senior who plans on pursuing a four year degree in biology, biological engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering or related sciences.  This internship will start after graduation in June.  Additional information is available in the Guidance Office or on the website at www.mcgowan.pitt.edu.   Deadline:  February 15, 2008.

Women in Engineering Summer Camp
July 13-18, 2008
Women in Engineering Summer Camp is a six-day residential camp for high school girls entering the tenth through the twelfth grade. Participants are immersed in the world of engineering through experiments, innovation modules, a day with industry and dinner with an engineer. The 2008 camp will mark the program's 35th anniversary. Tuition fee.

 

Summer Honors Institute
July 20-25, 2008
Study challenging engineering topics, explore career options, interact with other motivated students and supportive faculty, and expand your horizons at the Summer Honors Institute. The Summer Honors Institute is a six-day residential camp for gifted high school freshmen and sophomores. Tuition fee.
