(2005-2006) The Teacher Excellence Center announced that six teachers from the Pine-Richland School District were named honorees in its annual awards program.
They included: Hance Elementary Teacher Anne Haught, Richland Elementary Teachers Bonnie Allessi and Constance Karrs and Wexford Elementary School's Vicki Bresnan, Lisa Olson and Colleen Todd. They make up the region's 106 best teachers being honored at the annual recognition program and were chosen from more than 4,000 nominations from 75 school districts.
All 106 teachers were recognized on stage on April 27, 06 and the honorees with the top five scores were named the 2005 – 06 Teachers of Excellence. The five finalists each received a $2500 grant for his or her school.
TEC's special guest for the award presentation was Dave Crawley, KDKA-TV's "KD" Country Reporter.
The Teacher Excellence Center is a southwestern Pennsylvania non-profit organization dedicated to professional development of teachers and recognizing teacher excellence. TEC recognizes the collaborative effort required by the school and community to educate students and improve the economic development of southwestern Pennsylvania.
