John DeLacio
Pine-Richland Cross-Age
Tutoring Program

December 7, 2007
Dear Parent/Guardian,
My name is John DeLacio, and I am a senior at Pine-Richland High
School. I have grown up through Wexford Elementary, the middle
school, and now I am at the high school. Last year, I ran a pilot
program of a “Cross-Age Tutoring Program” across the
district. After one successful year, I am looking to continue
the same program once again!
Students from the Pine-Richland Middle School and High School
have signed up to serve as tutors after school for the children
at the elementary schools. These students can make arrangements
with you to tutor your child in your home once a week. You and
the tutor will decide upon the time and day of the week. The session
should not last more than 30 to 60 minutes per week. This is a
win-win situation because your child is tutored and the middle
school tutor earns community service credit.
If you are interested in this volunteer service, complete the
form attached to this letter and return it to your elementary
school office by December 21, 2007. You are welcome to contact
me by email (prlax80@yahoo.com), if you have any questions about
this program.
Sincerely,
John DeLacio

I would like an after school, middle school student tutor for
my child. I understand that tutoring sessions will last between
30 and 60 minutes and will take place in my home or a neutral
location at a mutually convenient time. I will verify the community
service hours by signing the tutor’s volunteer action report.
I understand the tutoring will be of a general nature and will
involve reinforcement of skills.
