PRHS Graduate Is Now A Pittsburgh Pirate

2004 Pine-Richland High School graduate Neil Walker is being promoted to the big leagues. The third baseman, who will take to the field with the Pittsburgh Pirates, was playing for AAA Indianapolis this season. Walker has a .264 batting average with 14 home runs and 69 RBI out of 95 games.

The announcement was made today, which is the first day that Major League teams can expand their rosters.

In addition to Walker, the Pirates called up pitcher Virgil Vasquez.

No word, yet, if Walker will take to the field in Cincinnati as early as tonight at 7:05 in Cincinnati as the Pirates take on the Reds.
