Contactless Car Rider Procedures
For the 21-22 school year, we will be implementing a contactless car rider procedure. Each family will be sent a PDF copy of a car rider sign via email prior to the first day of a school with a unique ID that should be displayed in your rearview mirror for staff to easily see. The unique ID will allow us to easily match your child to your vehicle and keep the car rider line moving quickly while still ensuring safety protocols. We will provide additional copies of the sign-in orange paper that must be hung on the mirror for dismissal starting on the second day. Please see the images below regarding the setup and traffic flow of car riders.
We will follow the same pattern that is used for Kindergarten AM dismissal time. Parents of PM Kindergarten and first-grade students (older siblings in grades 2 and 3 will be called down to join K and 1 siblings) may pull up to the sign and then will be motioned forward to the end of the sidewalk in the front of the building so that your child(ren) may enter your car once dismissal begins.
We will stagger dismissal using the estimated times below. Please be patient as we begin to implement this process. We will all become more efficient as we learn and improve it over the first few weeks back to school.
K and 1 – 3:45-3:55 p.m.
2 and 3 - 3:55-4:05 p.m.
Bus dismissal – 4:05-4:15 p.m.Once the car rider line ends, we will block off the lane (shown below in orange) to begin bus dismissal at 4:05 pm. Cars that arrive once students begin boarding buses and the lane is blocked off should park in the back row and walk to the entrance of the building to wait for their child.
