  • Cadets Earn 1st at Air Force Drill Competition

    The PRHS AF-JROTC Drill Team earned first place overall at the Air Force Association Drill Competition at Parkersburg South High School in West Virginia on February 23, 2019. In addition, the team took first place in eight of the nine events they competed.

  • Students Qualify for FTC World Competition

    The BrainSTEM Robotics First Tech Challenge Team #6931 was part of the winning alliance, which placed first at the at the First Tech Challenge PA State Tournament, which was hosted at Oxford Area High School in Oxford, PA, on March 2-3, 2019. This qualifies the team to go to the FIRST World Championships in Detroit, MI on April 23-27, 2018.

  • Students Put to Test on Hometown High Q

    Pine-Richland High School students were put to the test during the Hometown High Q show. Team members included Adalendu Bokil, Daniel Krill and Aiden Pavlick, who competed against other area schools. Alternates included Sam Stella and Michael Allessi. The show aired on January 12, 2019. The team took the win against Bethlehem Center and Beaver.

  • TSA Students Qualify for States

    Several Pine-Richland High students earned top awards at the Technology Student Association Regional Competition. This year’s competition was snowed out and was judged online. Students will go on to compete at the state level at Seven Springs, PA from April 10-11, 2019.

  • Seniors Named Finalists in National Merit Program

    The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) named two Pine-Richland High School students among approximately 15,000 finalists in the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

  • AFS Students Bring Cultural Awareness to PR

    The world came to Pine-Richland on February 6-8, 2019. Several American Field Service (AFS) students, who are attending area schools, converged on the high school and middle school campuses. Students from France, Germany, Chile, Argentina, Libya, and Pakistan spoke to middle and high school students about their experiences and background.

  • Four Students Finalists in Theater Competition

    Four Pine-Richland High School students were named finalists in the 25th Annual Shakespeare Monologue & Scene Contest at Pittsburgh Public Theater.

  • Best Buddies Open Store

    Pine-Richland High School hosted a grand opening on February 6, 2019. The PRHS Best Buddies Program opened a store. Students and staff can buy everything from pencils to phone chargers including Best Buddies t-shirts. Proceeds from the store will benefit the Best Buddies program.

  • Students Develop Innovative Applications During Pine-Richland's First-Ever Hackathon Organized by Students

    PRHS students organized and led a successful hackathon called “Hack the Ram.” Seniors Arjan Guglani, Lauren Juncal, and Justin Waltrip, and junior Daniel Krill developed, organized and launched PR’s first-ever hackathon on February 9, 2019. Teacher Val Klosky served as the sponsoring teacher.

  • Students Win World of Wheels Competition

    A.W. Beattie Career Center students have won the World of Wheels Peddle Car Challenge for the second consecutive year. The career center is a three-time champion in the competition, having also won in 2015.

  • HS Guidance & HS PTO Present 'The Backstory of the College Admission Process'

    Exciting News! The Guidance Department and the PRHS PTO proudly present the return of one of our most popular speakers, Peter Van Buskirk, on Mar. 19, 2019. Peter spent more than 25 years in selective college admission including twelve as Dean of Admission at Franklin & Marshall College. He has presented his creative programming to more than 2,000 audiences worldwide. See more...

  • Senior Earns MLK, Jr., Day Program Writing Award

    Senior Taryn Douglas was recognized at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Writing Awards celebration at Carnegie Mellon University held on Monday, January 21, 2019. This was the event's 20th Anniversary. This event is sponsored by CMU's Dietrich College of Humanities & Social Sciences, the Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion and the Department of English.

    PRHS students helped develop the writing skills of middle school students. This year’s creative writing theme was “Nature.” Each middle school student participated in five creative writing stations.
