  • Annual Survey Results Available

    On an annual basis, the Pine-Richland School District conducts a detailed survey for parents (all grades), staff (all workforce groups), and students (grades 3, 6, 8, and 12). The results of these surveys are used as a source of feedback, satisfaction, and engagement.

  • Home Access to Close on June 30

    This is a reminder that Home Access will close on June 30, 2020. If you would like a copy of your child's electronic report card, please print a copy by 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2020. The district will be transitioning to a new community portal in August of 2020. More details will be provided in early August.

  • Board Approves 2020-21 Budget

    The Pine-Richland School Board approved the Final General Fund Budget for the 2020-2021 school year in accordance with board policy #604 Budget Adoption with total expenditures of $92,772,751 and total revenues of $92,421,756 with $350,995 of utilization of assigned fund balance, and to establish the following tax rates for the fiscal year 2020-2021.   • Trash & Recycling Hauling Bid Meeting Scheduled

  • Pick-Up Window & Procedures

    As promised, we developed a plan for each building which will ensure that personal belongings can be collected and library books can be dropped off at the school from May 20-22 and 26-27, 2020. (Chromebooks and textbooks should remain at home for students in K - 11 unless the student is permanently leaving the district.)

    On Thursday, May 7, 2020 committee members met to conduct a final review of the vendor presentation evaluations, in-depth program review findings, and staff feedback. This comprehensive evaluation process guided the committees in making the final recommendations listed.

  • Review Safety & Security Message

    The topic of safety and security is critical to the mission of PRSD. As a district, we take a comprehensive view of school safety with attention given to multiple areas (e.g., district culture, building security, personnel, law enforcement, mental health, technology, law, curriculum, reporting, communication, and general measures). That comprehensive view is most recently impacted by the public health concerns of a global pandemic connected to the highly contagious novel coronavirus.   • Family & Consumer Science Department Helps Communities a Stitch at a Time

    The Pine-Richland Family and Consumer Science Department (FCS) is helping communities one stitch at a time by constructing cloth face masks and encouraging students to do the same. he FCS teachers want to encourage their students to be active and responsible community members by constructing cloth face masks for their families and for personal use.

    We believe strongly that all of our stakeholders including our students can provide important feedback about the quality of our educational programs. Two surveys are being prepared for students. They include the annual student technology survey and the annual student satisfaction survey.

  • Board Approves Proposed Final General Fund Budget for 2020-2021

    The Board of School Directors of the Pine-Richland School District intends to adopt the Final General Fund Budget for the 2019-2020 school year at the meeting to be held on June 8, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. in the DeWitt Blank Board Room, 702 Warrendale Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044.

  • Weather-Related Make-Up Day

    Given the winter-weather school cancellation on Feb. 7, 2020, we wanted to share some important school calendar information. As part of the 19 - 20 PRSD Academic Calendar, the district built in additional make-up days to provide flexibility in the event of a cancellation. As a result: March 23, 2020 - will shift from a holiday to a teacher in-service/clerical day. March 24, 2020 - will become a regular school day for all students and staff.

  • PR Musical Postponed

    This communication is being sent to anyone who was planning to attend one of the upcoming Pine-Richland High School musical performances. All upcoming performances scheduled for March 13, 14, 20, and 21 are postponed. As we have shared in all previous communications, district administrators have been in constant contact with Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) doctors and scientists in establishing best practices and throughout the decision making process. In addition, we are referencing guidance information from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention.

  • Senior Citizen Musical Performance Cancelled

    The first performance of the Pine-Richland High School Musical The Addams Family was scheduled for this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. This is an annual event where we invite senior citizens from around the community to see and hear our talented students perform. As a result of the latest Allegheny Health Department update, along with concern for the health and safety of our senior citizens, families and students, we are cancelling the senior citizen performance that was scheduled for today, Thursday, March 12th at 4:00 p.m.

  • Board Approves 2019-20 Budget

    The Pine-Richland School Board approved the final general fund budget for the 2019-2020 school year in accordance with PR School Board Policy #604 Budget Adoption with total expenditures of $91,457,895 and total revenues of $91,457,895 with no utilization of assigned fund balance, no change to any of the current assessment rates, and to establish tax rates in accordance with PR Board Policy #605 Tax Levy for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.

  • PR Recognizes Retirees

    Pine-Richland School District honored six staff members who are retiring at the end of this year. This year’s retiree reception was hosted through Sodexo Food Service in conjunction with 2019 Sodexo Future Chef Challenge winner Tessa Lutz, who shared her Apple Taco Tastic dish.

    Teams of teachers and administrators presented on Monday, April 29, 2019, an overview of the in-depth program review process along with the recommendations that were identified from the year-long study of the gifted and/or highly achieving program and the social studies department.

  • Student Surveys to Be Administered

    We believe strongly that all of our stakeholders including our students can provide important feedback about the quality of our educational programs. To capture student input, the district developed an annual student satisfaction survey two years ago to share for students in Grades 3, 6, 8 and 12 the weeks of May 14 and May 20, 2019. We will also be administering the annual technology survey to grades 3-12 during the window of May 6-24, 2019.

  • Join Us for Food Advisory & Wellness Committee

    Join us as Pine-Richland School District hosts the fourth Food Service Advisory & Wellness Committee meeting for the 2018-2019 School Year from 8-9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. An evening session will be held from 6-7 p.m. for those who cannot attend the morning session.

  • Be A Resource Reviewer

    Parents, students, and community members have the opportunity to review and provide input on identified resources for math, science & health resources starting March 5, 2019. The feedback from the community, students, and departments will be used to support final recommendations. Final recommendations will then be on display this spring for an additional review.

  • Students Develop Innovative Applications

    PRHS students organized and led a successful hackathon called “Hack the Ram.” Seniors Arjan Guglan, Lauren Juncal, and Justin Waltrip, and junior Daniel Krill developed, organized and launched PR’s first-ever hackathon on Feb. 9, 2019.
