  • Join Us for Advisory & Wellness Committee

    Join us as Pine-Richland School District hosts its first Food Service Advisory & Wellness Committee meeting for the 2019-2020 School Year from 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. The meeting will be held in the Pine-Richland Central Office Dewitt Blank Conference Room, 702 Warrendale Rd. in Gibsonia.

  • Students Educate Peers in Mead Hall Celebration

    Students in Teacher Jennifer Fink’s Honors English 12 class celebrated Mead Hall Day on Oct. 12, 2019. “The students study the Anglo-Saxon unit,” explained Ms. Fink. “During this unit, we learned the importance of the mead hall as the community center where the thanes (important warriors) and the king met for important meetings, feasts, and celebrations.”

  • District Schedules Kindergarten Registration

    Pine-Richland School District is hosting centralized registration for kindergarten Monday, March 9-13, 2019, from 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. for each elementary school. To save you time & effort, the information you provided on your Free & Reduced Price School Meals Application may be shared with other programs for which your child/children may qualify. We must have your permission to share your information with programs that PRSD offers at a discounted and/or free.

  • Trick-or-Treating to Be Shifted to Nov.1

    Due to the potential of heavy rain and flash flooding forecasted for the evening of Thursday, October 31, and in the interest of public safety and the safety of the children, the Township of Pine and Richland Township are moving trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1, 2019, from 6-8 p.m.

  • Opportunities for Parent/Teacher Conferences

    Pine-Richland School District sets aside time in November for families to have the opportunity to have face-to-face conferences with teachers. As you know, these one-to-one sessions can be a powerful opportunity to have a direct discussion about your child's progress and performance. Since the process for scheduling conferences may vary slightly between schools, please work directly with the staff at that school to make arrangements.

  • School Board Earns Outstanding Innovation Award

    The Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) honored outstanding recipients of the Pennsylvania Education Innovation Awards at the PA Association of School Administrators-PSBA School Leadership Conference at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center on October 16, 2019. The Pine-Richland School Board was the only school board out of three groups to receive the award.

    The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Pine-Richland High School Stadium is the site of a polling center for voters in Pine Township District #1, #2 & #3 from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

  • Review Redistricting Projected Timeline

    A Joint Student Services and Operational Services Committee meeting was held on Oct. 7, 2019, prior to the PR School Board Planning Meeting. At the planning meeting, the board and administration agreed to update a demographic study and recommended a timeline of: 2019-2020 (Update Demographic Study & Finalize Redistricting Recommendation by summer or early fall of 2020). 2020-2021 (Planning for Logistics: No Redistricting/i.e., current boundaries continue, and in 2021-2022 (Implementation: First Year of Redistricting/i.e., new boundaries begin.

    Pine-Richland High School Football players visited all three elementary schools on Friday, October 4, 2019. They spent the afternoon reading to students, passing out t-shirts and autographs.

  • Review 2019-2020 Academic Calendar

    The Pine-Richland School Board approved the 2019-2020 Academic calendar at the regular school board meeting on November 12, 2018.

  • Board Approves 2019-20 Budget

    The Pine-Richland School Board approved the final general fund budget for the 2019-2020 school year in accordance with PR School Board Policy #604 Budget Adoption with total expenditures of $91,457,895 and total revenues of $91,457,895 with no utilization of assigned fund balance, no change to any of the current assessment rates, and to establish tax rates in accordance with PR Board Policy #605 Tax Levy for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.

    Pine-Richland School District honored six staff members who are retiring at the end of this year. This year’s retiree reception was hosted through Sodexo Food Service in conjunction with 2019 Sodexo Future Chef Challenge winner Tessa Lutz, who shared her Apple Taco Tastic dish.

    Teams of teachers and administrators presented on Monday, April 29, 2019, an overview of the in-depth program review process along with the recommendations that were identified from the year-long study of the gifted and/or highly achieving program and the social studies department.

  • Student Surveys to Be Administered

    We believe strongly that all of our stakeholders including our students can provide important feedback about the quality of our educational programs. To capture student input, the district developed an annual student satisfaction survey two years ago to share for students in Grades 3, 6, 8 and 12 the weeks of May 14 and May 20, 2019. We will also be administering the annual technology survey to grades 3-12 during the window of May 6-24, 2019.

    Core and expanded team members from each committee met to conduct a final review of the vendor presentation evaluations, in-depth program review findings, community/student input, & staff feedback.This process guided the committees in final recommendations. The resources, along with feedback forms, will be on display for families, students & community members for review through May 8, 2019.

    Parents, students, and community members have the opportunity to review and provide input on identified resources for math, science & health resources starting March 5, 2019. The feedback from the community, students, and departments will be used to support final recommendations. Final recommendations will then be on display this spring for an additional review.

  • Students Develop Innovative Applications

    PRHS students organized and led a successful hackathon called “Hack the Ram.” Seniors Arjan Guglan, Lauren Juncal, and Justin Waltrip, and junior Daniel Krill developed, organized and launched PR’s first-ever hackathon on Feb. 9, 2019.
