• WHAT DO WE DO?

     

     Competitive Events:

    Students have the opportunity to participate in individual, team, chapter, and/or  recognition events as part of the competitive events program. In most cases, competitive events begin on the region level. Qualifiers then advance to the state conference and possibly to the National Leadership Conference.

     

    Region Leadership Conference:

    A local activity in which members participate in competitive events to qualify for the State Leadership Conference .  Held at a local high school or on a participating college/community college/business school campus; usually held in mid December or early to mid January.  Students miss 1 day of school.

     

     State Leadership Conference:  

     Hershey Lodge and Convention Center

     The major event in the PA FBLA year in which qualifying members participate in numerous competitive events, attend leadership development seminars

     Attended by nearly 3,700 student members and advisers

     Students have the opportunity to participate in numerous individual, team, chapter, and recognition events as part of the competitive events program. In most cases, competitive events begin on the region level. Qualifiers then advance to the state conference and possibly to the National Leadership Conference.  Students leave on a Sunday & return on Wednesday.

    Executive Forum & Panel Discussion:  

     Local business executives share insight into their careers and provide advice to chapter members regarding building successful futures.  A variety of topics are presented with an opportunity for students to participate in a question-answer session.  The event is hosted at the LeMont Restaurant of Pittsburgh.  Students experience fine dining and a business meeting environment. 

    Monthly Membership Meetings:  

    Students are required to attend every meeting as we only meet once per month.  Meetings will address business of the organization, expenditures, upcoming events, competitive events and planning for RLC and SLC.  Several monthly meetings will be “Speaker Sessions” and will involve local business executives speaking on a predefined topic with time for question and answer.

     Fundraising Efforts:

     

    •  Students are required to participate in BOTH fundraising initiatives.
    •  Students are required to sell JAVA JOE’S COFFEE (10 items)
    •  Students are required to participate in the MOE'S NIGHT FUNDRAISER(s)

     

     FBLA National & State Dues:

     Students are required to pay a $12.00 dues.  This payment is forwarded directly to the National and State FBLA Offices.  No portion of this payment stays within the district chapter.
