What is it like to have dyslexia? How does it affect your daily life? PR Parents, Staff, and PR community are invited to this simulation, which allows participants to experience some of the challenges and frustrations faced by people with this

language-based learning disability. This session is scheduled for September 25 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Eden Hall Upper Elementary School. See details and register online. Limited to the first 90 registrants.

The Pine-Richland Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is announcing the first-ever Athletic Hall of Fame class of inductees. See who will be part of the inaugural class of 2019.

The PR Varsity Cheerleading Squad is holding their annual Youth Cheer Clinic on Tuesday, October 1, and Thursday, October 3, for grades K-6. Girls who attend the clinic will take part in the pre-game festivities and cheer during part of the Varsity football game on Friday, October 4. Early bird registration open through September 20 at a discounted price. Final registration open through September 27. See details and register online.

Swimming is the #1 sport to boost confidence, aerobic conditioning, core strength, and friendship in our young children and teenagers. Pine Richland Aquatics offers swim lessons and a competitive swim team for youth ages 5 – 18. Practices are held at the PRHS pool. Registration is now open for the Fall/Winter 2019 Season. All coed flag football games will be played on Sundays in the North Hills. Tentative start date is Sunday, November 17. Regular season will continue through Sunday, January 5, with playoffs on January 12. The league will consist of three age groups: 1) 4-8 years; 2) 9-12 years and 3) 13-17 years. Cub Scout Pack 85 is accepting boys and girls in grades 1-5 (for the 2019-2020 school year). Interested in joining or have questions about scouting? Contact Cub Master David Bummer. Also, our Pack will be at the Hance Elementary Parent Nights on August 26 and 27. Note: PRSD includes multiple packs. Pack 85 members are primarily in Gibsonia/ Hance Elementary area.  

Cub Scouts Pack 179 will be hosting its Bonfire and Kick-off Meeting on Thursday, September 12, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at St. Richards Parish. Welcoming new and returning Scouts, Grades K through 5. Pack consists mostly of students living in the Richland Elementary-school area. Questions or for more information, contact Chrissy Traynor.

Pine Township Cub Scout Pack 344 is hosting their sign-up night on Thursday, September 19, 7 p.m., at Salem United Methodist Church (350 Manor Rd, Wexford). We accept boys and girls in grades 1-5. If you have questions about scouting, join us, check out our website, or contact Melissa Martinez. Note: PRSD includes multiple packs. Our members are primarily in Wexford Elementary/Pine Township area.
