Chapter 3 "Settlements Take Root"

Lesson 2:  "The English Colonies in Virginia"- Students will learn about the challenges that occurred at both Roanoke and Jamestown.  As we read, students are identifying key details and determining the main idea of paragraphs and sections.  We then record facts in a graphic organizer. Students have also defined new vocabulary for both lessons 1 & 2.  In the upcoming week, we will wrap up lesson 2 by reviewing with "whole-brain vocabulary", watching a movie on Jamestown, completing/checking lesson 2 questions, and doing an overall lesson review.
