  • Grad Develops Method to Reconfigure Content

    Have you ever highlighted a passage of text only to realize you aren’t exactly sure where the end of the passage is due to your view being blocked by the very hand holding the highlighter? A 2011 PRHS graduate earned a patent for a method to solve that problem.

    Greetings from the PRHS Principals! We are thinking about each of you and trust you are settling into your new routines. We are including a few updates and new information in this communication.     Pine-Richland student filmmakers and broadcasters capture regional digital arts awards.

  • Junior Receives Gold Award

    In Girl Scouts, the highest awards . . .the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. . . are a chance for a girl to make a lasting difference in the world. For Katelyn Terchick from Pine-Richland High School, going gold means earning the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award.

  • Students Learn More about Spanish Dance

    The Spanish Club hosted a flamenco lesson on February 25, 2020, with Carolina Loyola-Garcia. She brought with her musician Ira Miller, who accompanied her on percussion. Teacher Kristin Hough said that the students enjoyed dancing the flamenco and learning about the history of the Spanish dance.

    On February 14, 2020, student leaders from the Pine-Richland High School Student Government organization attended the Pennsylvania Association of Student Council's Region B Conference held at Montour High School.

  • HS Preschool Class Hosts Session on Safety

    The Pine-Richland High School Child Development Class hosted a "Helpers in the Community" session on February 27, 2020, for the preschoolers.

  • Cheerleaders Bring Good 'Cheer' to Others

    With their season winding down, the Pine-Richland Cheerleaders used their enthusiasm to bring cheer to people in the larger community. In February, the middle school cheerleaders shared ice cream, conversation and smile with the residents of St. Barnabus at The Arbors during an ice cream social after showcasing their cheerleading skills.

    Pine-Richland students are not the only ones being recognized for their artwork. Three PR teachers earned the privilege to showcase their art in area exhibits.

  • Students Compete in Battle of Books

    Pine-Richland High School students participated in Carnegie Library's Battle of the Books on March 3, 2020, under the direction of Librarian Brent Pollock. Two PRHS Teams competed with one earning third and the other earning fifth place.

  • Budget & Design Highlight AP Microeconomics Class

    While mobile dining can be tracked all the way back to 1691 to New York where vendors sold food from pushcarts, the food truck craze is making its first stop in AP Microeconomics Class at PRHS. That is where students are being challenged to create model food trucks complete with menus and cost sheets under the direction of Teacher Timothy Rupert.

  • Students Named Finalists in National Merit

    Four Pine-Richland High School students are being named finalists in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. Moving from semifinalist to finalist status are seniors Daniel Krill, Aidan Meyer, Gina Sabol, and Justin Waltrip.

  • Students Spread Words of Kindness

    Pine-Richland High School Student Government members are spreading goodwill to their fellow classmates. Ninth-grade members of the organization wrote positive messages on hearts and posted them on their fellow classmates' lockers just in time for Valentine's Day on February 14, 2020.

    The Pine-Richland High School Dance Team competed at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Home Technique Summer Camp and won many awards.

  • HS to Open Parking Permit Process

    We are preparing to begin the parking permit application process for the 2019-2020 school year. Pine-Richland High School students will receive an email to their Pine-Richland email account containing a link to the application form. All applications must be completed using the online form and can be completed from any device that has internet access. Seniors will be able to access the Parking Permit application beginning 12:00 A.M. on Monday, July 22, 2019. Juniors will be able to access the Parking Permit application beginning 12:00 A.M. on Monday, July 29, 2019.
