Dear Parents & Guardians:
Pine-Richland School District will be mailing Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) reports the week of Oct. 2, 2017 and Keystone Exam reports to families the week of Sept. 18, 2017.
- PSSAs are given every spring in Math (April 9-13, 2018) and English Language Arts in grades 3 through 8 (April 16-20, 2018) and in Science in grades 4 and 8 (April 23-27, 2018). This was the third administration of the assessment aligned to the PA Core Standards that were published in 2014.
-
Keystone Exams are standardized tests used to measure students' mastery of the standards associated with Algebra 1, Biology, and Literature. Federal Regulations require that students take the exams, and Pine-Richland Board
Policy No. 217 states the students must demonstrate proficiency on the exams in order to graduate from high school.
Here is a timel

These test results are important to us. Student results over time give us a measure of how well our students are growing in their learning as well as achieving at any one time. Schools and staff are evaluated in part by how well students perform on these tests. Principals and teachers use the results of these tests to guide future decisions about curriculum and instruction.
As a school, we will be analyzing the performance of all our students to understand the effectiveness of our educational programs and learning needs of our students. Please call or email your building administrator(s) if you have any questions about these test results.
While these scores are used to evaluate a student's academic proficiency, these tests are only one factor to consider in your child's overall educational attainment.
Respectfully,
