Benjamin Campbell, Director
Pine Township Region 1
Dr. Campbell represents Pine Region 1 with a four-year term.
Dr. Campbell is a 1998 graduate of the Pine-Richland School District. He attended Penn State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics with Honors, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and minors in Business, Mathematics, and Astronomy & Astrophysics. He earned his Ph.D. in Engineering at Robert Morris University.
Dr. Campbell started his career as a laser engineer specializing in ultrashort pulse laser micromachining. He is now an Assistant Professor of Engineering at Robert Morris University teaching mainly undergraduate electronics and graduate engineering management courses. Dr. Campbell has over two dozen research publications, including several on STEM education topics. He has eight years of board experience serving as the Vice President of the PGSS Campaign, which restored and sustains the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University after state budget cuts ended the program in 2009.
Dr. Campbell has lived in Wexford with his wife and children since 2015. He is excited to be serving Pine-Richland to give back to the community and will strive to uphold the district’s tradition of excellence.
