    April 12, 2024

The National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is recognized on the fourth Thursday in April each year. Parents of students in our schools are encouraged, if participating, to use the date of April 25, 2024 or choose a date in the summer months. If your child will be missing school for this purpose, it is necessary to complete and submit a Pine-Richland Family Educational Trip form (found on the Sapphire Portal) prior to the scheduled date.

Student safety is a priority for our Wexford Community. During the school year we conduct two bus evacuation drills and practice RAMS Way behavior expectations for students being transported on a school bus.

In the Pine-Richland School District, we value diversity in our student body and community as a strength and feel it is important to share windows into the experiences of those who are different from us through various learning activities that align to our learning goals and curriculum. In February, the stories, contributions and accomplishments of past and present African Americans are celebrated as a part of Black History Month.

We observe and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day each year on the third Monday of January. Martin Luther King Jr. Day reminds us to promote kindness and compassion through our daily interactions with each other. Our positive school culture in Wexford Elementary reflects the intentional focus on the components of RAMS Way.

Last week, our students revisited the book Knight Owl, by Christopher Denise, to practice making connections through RAMS Way and with each other. This week we featured a set of books written and illustrated by Jory John and Pete Oswald called the Food Group. Each book in the series uses humor and positive themes to connect to our annual Read to Feed event.
