Academic Calendar

The Pine-Richland School Board approved the 2026-2027 Academic Calendar at their December 8, 2025, combined meeting.

While constructing a calendar, many factors are considered. Some of those factors include:

  • Addressing student and staff days (professional development and clerical time)
  • Balancing student days within each quarter and semester
  • Taking into consideration standardized and end-of-course assessments
  • Identifying a start date later in August
  • Balancing AM and PM kindergarten hours
  • Identifying the last day and graduation date, graduation rain date, planning for graduation practices and end-of-year activities

Notable Dates

Families and staff will notice some differences in this calendar compared to previous years. These adjustments were made for 2026-2027 to maximize student learning opportunities.

  • First Day of School—Tuesday, August 25
  • Labor Day/School Closed—Monday, September 7
  • Teacher In-Service/Clerical Day—Friday, October 30
  • Parent/Teacher Conferences/No School—Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6
  • Thanksgiving Break—Thursday, November 26, Friday, November 27, and Monday, November 30 
  • Keystone Testing—Monday, December 7, through Friday, December 18
  • Winter Break—Thursday, December 24, through Friday, January 1
  • Keystone Testing—Monday, January 4, through Friday, January 15
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day/School Closed—Monday, January 18
  • Teacher In-Service/Clerical Day—Monday, January 25
  • Teacher In-Service Day—Monday, February 15*
  • Spring Break—Thursday, March 25, through Friday, March 26
  • Teacher/Paraprofessional In-Service/Clerical Day——Monday, March 29*
  • ELA PSSA Testing—Monday, April 26, through Friday, April 30
  • Math and Science PSSA Testing—Monday, May 3, through Friday, May 7
  • Teacher In-Service Day—Friday, May 7*
  • Math and Science PSSA Testing Makeup Days—Monday, May 10, through Friday, May 14
  • Keystone Testing—Monday, May 17, through Friday, May 28
  • Last Day for Seniors—Thursday, May 27
  • Memorial Day/School Closed—Monday, May 31
  • Last Day for Kindergarten—Wednesday, June 2
  • Last Day for Grades 1-11—Thursday, June 3 (half day)
  • Graduation—Thursday, June 3

*Emergency make-up days are scheduled for February 15, March 29 and May 7.
