  • PR's Victorious at County Wrestling Tournament

    The Allegheny County Wrestling Tournament hosted by Fox Chapel saw something for the first time in 15 years, a Pine-Richland victory. The tournament was loaded with 37 teams from every part of the county including many previous county and even state champions.

    The Pine-Richland High School Varsity Wrestling Team will be competing in the WPIAL Team Section Championship Tournament at Fox Chapel High School at 7 p.m. on January 22, 2020.

  • Wrestling Team Pins Victories

    Wrestler Nate Lukez earned his 100th victory on December 11, 2019, at Butler. His career record is 100-25. Nate is committing to West Point. Nate was one of four wrestlers that took four championship titles at the Steve DeAugustino Holiday Classic, held December 27-28 at West Mifflin.

  • Competition Cheer Team To Compete in PIAAs

    The Pine-Richland High School Varsity Competitive Cheerleading Team traveled to Hempfield Area High School on Saturday, January 4, 2020, for the 2020 Competitive Spirit Championships. The team took first place in the Small Varsity division and also took home the Silver Medal in the elusive AAA WPIAL title. Additionally, the team qualified for the PIAA Competitive Spirit Championships on January 9-10 in Hershey, PA, where they will compete for a state title.

  • Check Out Swimming & Diving Update

    The Pine-Richland High School Swimmers & Divers had an excellent meet on December 18, 2019. The final score for the PRHS Girls Team was 74 and Fox Chapel 111 and the PRHS Boys Team earned 92 and Fox Chapel 93. There were 13 more WPIAL cuts.

  • Boys Basketball Season Underway

    PR Boys Basketball will take on Mt. Lebanon away on Friday, December 13, 2019. The TribLive High School Sports Network will broadcast the game via live video stream with multiple cameras at 7:30 p.m. with Don Rebel and Lou Rood via TribHSSN.TribLive.com. Read more about the team.

  • Girls Basketball Opens Season with 2 Victories

    The Pine-Richland Girls Basketball Varsity Team is scheduled for 6 p.m on Thurs., Dec. 12, 2019. The JV Game has been canceled. It was originally scheduled at 6 p.m.

  • Wrestling Team Places Second

    The Pine-Richland wrestling team placed second out of 29 teams at the Chartiers-Houston Invitational tournament Dec. 6-7, 2019. The Rams had two Champions junior Cole Spencer and freshman Anthony Ferraro both went 4-0. Sophomore Kelin Laffey and Nate Lukez both placed second. Seniors Zach Shaver and Robert Palmieri both went 4-2 to place fourth and fifth respectfully. On Dec. 11, 2019, the wrestlers will face their first section match against Butler, the tournament champion.

  • Stadium to Close in January for Lighting Project

    Pine-Richland School District will be closing the Pine-Richland High School Stadium track to install a new lighting system from Jan. 6 through Feb. 16, 2020. During the installation, the PRHS Spirit Room, stadium lobby and weight room will remain open. The track will reopen on Feb. 17, 2020.

  • PR Misses Win by a Field Goal

    Pine-Richland made it to the WPIAL Championship match-up and was defeated by Central Catholic. The two teams were tied at 7-7 with only three minutes and 58 seconds left in the game and Central Catholic's Johnathan Opalko kicked a game-winning 40-yard field goal.

  • Senior Athletes Commit to Colleges

    Student-athletes participated in National Signing Day on November 13, 2019, at Pine-Richland High Schools. More students will be signing February of 2019. Here is a profile on each senior who signed or committed to universities and colleges so far this year. Additional signing days will be held on February 5, 2020, and April 15, 2020.

    The Pine-Richland Football Rams took a win in the WPIAL semifinals. The team will meet up with Central Catholic at Heinz Field at 8 p.m. on Nov. 16, 2019, for the WPIAL Championship Title.

    Congratulations to the Pine-Richland girls cross country runners who had fantastic races at the PIAAs on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019. In the AAA girls race, Natalie McLean and Meredith Price qualified.

  • Committee Announces First-Ever Class of Inductees

    The Pine-Richland Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is announcing the first-ever Athletic Hall of Fame class of inductees. Approved in March of 2019, the Pine-Richland Athletic Hall of Fame honors and recognizes those associated with Pine-Richland athletics who have experienced significant accomplishments in their chosen sport or sports.
