Preventative Testing Overview

  • Preventative Testing Air Quality Radon Lead Pine-Richland School District is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff members.  As one component of this focus, the district has historically conducted a preventative program in which periodic testing is conducted in our buildings. For example, past tests include lead in water, indoor air quality, and radon.

    • The district has taken a proactive and systematic approach to expanding preventative testing that exceeds regulatory requirements.  By establishing a comprehensive baseline, the district can mitigate any areas of concern as an important effort to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff members.

    • The district earned a $26,000 grant through the Women for a Healthy Environment initiative “Lead in Water, Lead in Paint, and Radon Testing & Remediation” in October 2018 to help offset the cost of testing.

    • In addition to the areas mentioned in the grant title, the district also conducted indoor air quality sample tests at all six buildings. Through the course of this testing program, the district has sent communications to the entire PRSD community related to lead in water results and radon results. Follow-up communication has been sent to specific schools and/or stakeholders to report the progress of mitigation efforts
