Hello everyone, my name is Michael Speal and I joined Richland Elementary School as a long term substitute elementary school counselor in November of 2020. I am taking over for Mrs. Molitor during her absence. I am so happy to be here and be a part of such a wonderful school and community! I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and my Master of Science Degree in Counselor Education from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. I have worked with students since 2012 as a mental health counselor, behavioral specialist, school Counselor, and dean of students, and have worked with students from over 20 different school districts. I live in Verona, PA, with my wife, Rita, and our three children: Michael Jr. (6), Theodore (2), and Kennedy (1). As a School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, personal, and social/emotional development of all students. I look forward to offering support to the students, staff, families, and the community! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I know that this can be a difficult and confusing time for families and our students. I am here for EVERY STUDENT, EVERY DAY!
Guidance Counselor Amy Molitor
Phone: 724-443-1558, ext. 4804
Hello Everyone! Thank you so much for visiting the Richland Elementary Guidance Page. My name is Amy Molitor and I have been an elementary counselor since 2006. I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from Westminster College and my Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University. Before coming to Richland, I was previously employed as an itinerant elementary counselor with the Butler Area School District for two years. I currently live in the district with my husband, my daughter, and my two furry orange children Rusty and Colby. Ok, they’re cats! I love living in the area and working at Richland is truly my dream job. I often am faced with the question “What does an elementary counselor do anyway?” I hope that this webpage provides some insight into my job and the reasons why I feel counselors are an important resource to have in the elementary school. My door is always open so if you have any questions, concerns, or joys to share with me please don't hesitate to stop by! I look forward to working with your children and getting to know you in the years to come.
