Volunteers and Clearances
-
The Pennsylvania General Assembly has amended the Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) several times. The most recent changes were through Act 153 to require all school employees, contractors and volunteers having direct contact with children to obtain new child abuse history clearance and state and federal criminal history checks every 60 months.
Requirements
- New volunteers must have clearances, dated within the past year, to be approved for their position.
- All volunteers are required to provide updated clearances to the district every 60 months (five years).
Renewal
- All volunteers are required to obtain clearances every 60 months. Timelines for renewed clearances are based upon the date of the oldest clearance.
- Follow the steps outlined on https://www.pinerichland.org/Page/5806 to renew clearances.
- Submit updated clearances to the District Office, attention Abby Cercone at acercone@pinerichland.org.
