Ian Fischer Earns President's Volunteer Service Award

Ian Fischer, a Pine-Richland student who attends a vocational program through the Children's Institute, recently was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award (bronze).

Ian was honored for his work through the Children’s Institute’s Job Span program. He has volunteered eight to ten hours per week for the last two years, including stocking the canteen and processing clothing at the Veterans Administration, cleaning the children’s section of the Homestead Library, taking inventory of medical equipment through Global Links and delivering meals through Mollie’s Meals, in addition to volunteering on his own time at Poppin’ Tags Free Store.

Ian was recognized at the VA’s Volunteer Recognition event in April.
