Pine-Richland School District proudly announces another year of educational excellence and academic growth based on data presented on December 4 in the 2025 Academic Achievement and Growth Report.

In last year’s Academic Achievement and Growth Report, the district affirmed its goal to achieve within the top decile (top 10%) of public schools in Pennsylvania and mark at least one year’s growth. This year, the district successfully met the goal of achieving within the top decile of Pennsylvania districts in all major tested areas and made significant progress toward its second goal to meet or exceed the growth standard set by the Pennsylvania Value-Added Assessment System (PVAAS), meeting or exceeding the growth standard in eight of 10 student groups.

This consistent achievement is a testament to the focused efforts and collaboration among students, dedicated staff and supportive family and community members, and underscores the district’s mission to focus on learning for every student every day.

High-Level Findings

In comparison to the state average and top decile benchmark, Pine-Richland students are performing at high levels on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) and Keystone Exams:

  • Pine-Richland students performed in the top decile in all twelve PSSA-tested areas. Students met or exceeded target achievement across all grade levels and content areas.

  • Pine-Richland students performed in the top decile in all three Keystone Exam-tested areas, consistent with prior years.

  • Pine-Richland students met or exceeded the PVAAS growth standard in eight of 10 PSSA-tested areas. This is an increase from 2024’s results.

  • Pine-Richland students met or exceeded the PVAAS growth standard in all three Keystone Exam-tested areas, consistent with 2024 results.

  • On both the PSSA and Keystone Exams, Pine-Richland students in special education with an IEP performed at levels much higher than the state proficiency average of special education students, and in some cases, more akin to the general population's proficiency average.

  • On both the PSSA and Keystone Exams, Pine-Richland students who are economically disadvantaged exceeded the state proficiency average scores of all tested students in all tests.

In comparison to state and national averages, Pine-Richland students are outperforming benchmarks on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), American College Test (ACT) and Advanced Placement (AP) Exams.

  • Pine-Richland students outperformed benchmarks and achieved at near historic levels on the SAT and ACT.

  • Over 1,300 AP exams were taken by Pine-Richland students. 84% of students scored 3 or higher

Pine-Richland has published the Academic Achievement and Growth Report annually since 2013 to provide transparency and insight into standardized academic metrics. The report includes emphasis on both achievement and growth and top decile comparisons where available, as well as a dual focus on measures of learning and data for action. The 2025 Academic Achievement and Growth Report was presented at the December 4 Academic Achievement Joint Governance School Board Meeting, a recording of which is available on YouTube.
