Pittsburgh Business Times Ranks Pine-Richland School District 9th
The Pittsburgh Business Times ranked Pine-Richland School District ninth in the Pittsburgh region out of 105 public school districts in its 2025 rankings published in late May. Pine-Richland was also ranked ninth in 2024.
Rankings are based on standardized test scores from 2022, 2023 and 2024. From the Pittsburgh Business Times: "Public schools in Pennsylvania take standardized tests in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 as well as Keystone Exams for high school proficiency, generally in 11th grade. A proprietary formula including three years of these test scores is used to rank the districts in the region and statewide. The ranking is the top-scoring school district on these standardized tests. The local ranking includes public school districts in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties. Grade rankings also include charter schools that operate in the region and have available scores to rank."
The publication also included rankings of test scores by grade level. Pine-Richland ranks eighth for 11th grade, 10th for eighth grade, 14th for seventh grade, 15th for sixth grade, 17th for fifth grade and 12th for fourth and third grades.
Pine-Richland School District ranks 19th in the state out of 482 public school districts.
