STA Driver Helps Pine-Richland Family Extinguish Fire

Many homes in the area were without power following severe storms on April 29, with some families relying on generators to power their homes. While finishing his bus route on that Tuesday, STA driver Bernie Giconi spotted a Pine-Richland parent fighting a generator fire next to his home.

Mr. Giconi stopped the bus and got out to help. Noticing the father already had the fire mostly under control, Mr. Giconi said, "I was concerned with making sure his wife and children were out of the house," and stepped into a help while waiting for first responders.

Mr. Giconi was recognized at the May 7 STA Safety Meeting by STA officials and district administrators. Thank you, Mr. Giconi for your quick response to help one of our families!
