Students Present at Children's Grief Awareness Day Summit

Eight students and four counselors pose together holding signs for their respective schools

School counselors and Caring Team members from Eden Hall Upper Elementary and Pine-Richland Middle School were invited to present as keynote speakers at the Children’s Grief Awareness Day Summit on October 17.

Students and counselors shared how the day is recognized at Eden Hall and how students who recently moved from Eden Hall to PRMS plan to continue the work and recognize the day in their new school.

Presenters from Eden Hall included fourth-grader David Sidoni, fifth-graders Riley Chance and Maria Marks, and sixth-graders James Mirasola and Lucia O'Malley. Presenters representing Pine-Richland Middle School included seventh-graders Gianna Marks, Dominick Stinelli and Rainey White. Students were accompanied by their school counselors McKenna GonzalezLauren Hawrylak, Jennifer Miller and Jennifer Mullaugh.

Children's Grief Awareness Day is observed annually on the third Thursday of November to raise awareness of the needs of grieving children and to support children who are grieving a loss.
