Students Take Top Spots in Statewide STEM Competition
Two Pine-Richland Middle School teams competing in TSA TEAMS placed first and second in the state and qualified for the national tournament to be held in Maryland in late June. The eighth-grade team of Luke Guo, Jackson Lion, Aarav Pattan, and Abhaya Tuladhar placed first in Pennsylvania. The seventh-grade team of Shivum Arora, Ved Bansal, Thomas Jones, and Ajay Ramakrishnan placed second.

Two high school teams tied for first in the state in the essay competitions: Team A (which also placed fifth in mathematical modeling and 10th overall) included sophomores Hans Jhamb, Tisha Joshi, Eunsol Ko, and Abheek Tuladhar, and Team D included sophomores Soha Garg, Sailesh Senthil, and Owen Tan. The sophomore team of Sonaya Arora, Piya Dargan, Anamaria Pomirleanu, and Keerthana Visveish placed first in mathematical modeling, while the senior team of Sanika Das, Giuliana Derenzo, Evy Lawler, and Ella Yanni placed second. This senior team also placed 9th in the state.
