Stepping Stones Children’s Center, Inc. is offering school-based care and education programs for children enrolled in the half-day kindergarten in the three elementary schools of Pine-Richland School District called LEAP (Learning Extensions & Play).

The program will be hosted at Hance Elementary, Richland Elementary and Wexford Elementary schools and will offer flexible enrollment options and affordable monthly tuition rates. In addition, Stepping Stones offers before and after-school care at the elementary level.

Elementary Before and After School Programs

Stepping Stones Children’s Center provides before- and after-school care in Hance Elementary, Richland Elementary, Wexford Elementary, and Eden Hall Upper Elementary for children in grades 1-6. 

Kindergarten and school-age children will be combined during the before and after school hours (7:00 am – 9:00 am and 3:45 am – 6:00 pm).

About

Since 1993, Stepping Stones Children’s Center has been providing kindergarten care and education for children in the three elementary schools in the Pine-Richland School District, busing the children to/from the schools to Stepping Stones Crossroads Center. Providing programming for kindergartners in each elementary school will appeal to families who are searching for care based on the half-day kindergarten and will eliminate the need to transport children.

The Program

Stepping Stones Children’s Center, Inc. is offering an extended school-based care and education program for children enrolled in the half-day kindergarten in the three elementary schools of the Pine-Richland School District.

Location

The program will be housed in safe and comfortable classrooms located in the Hance Elementary, Richland Elementary, and Wexford Elementary schools and will offer flexible enrollment options and affordable monthly tuition rates.

Offerings

This new and unique program promotes socialization, independent learning opportunities, self-confidence, and problem solving skills through child-initiated and informal activities based on the development and interest of kindergarten-aged children.

Standards

Each school is staffed with qualified education and child care professionals and all locations operate in compliance with the Department of Human Services, Allegheny County Health Department, and Keystone Stars standards for quality programming. All staff are trained in pediatric first aid/CPR and fire safety/emergency operations.

Meal Options

Children enrolled in the Kindergarten program will have the option of purchasing lunch from the school cafeteria or bringing their own lunch. 

Transportation

Morning bus transportation to school will be available to students enrolled in the AM Kindergarten Session and afternoon bus transportation to home will be available to students enrolled in the PM Kindergarten Session. To ensure compliance with all school security requirements, parent pick-up and drop-off procedures will be specific to each school.
