Math Pathways Presentation
Description
Join Us for Math Pathways Presentation
Dear Parents/Guardians of Current Students in Grades 2-7:
While we are nearing the end of the school year, we are prepping for 2018-2019. The district reviewed, clarified and simplified the mathematics pathway chart during a comprehensive and systematic review process several years ago; narrowed the range of student readiness levels in the mathematics classrooms, and considered the most appropriate and available data points for making mathematics course placement recommendations.
A letter will be coming home to you the week of May 18 providing you with a brief summary of the recommendation process for students entering grades 3-8 and a mathematics course recommendation for your child for the 2018-2019 school year. Through this recommendation, we want to ensure that we are providing a learning environment with a level of challenge that is just out of your child's reach.
You can gain more understanding of our mathematics program during a detailed presentation from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018, in the Richland Elementary School Auditorium, which is located at 3811 Bakerstown Road in Gibsonia, PA. Administrators and teachers will be available to explain each component of mathematics pathways and to speak to individual families.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our mathematics program. We hope to see you at the upcoming presentation.
Respectfully,
Dr. Kristen M. Silbaugh
